automatically remove logos

Postby tilmaen » Mon Dec 01, 2008 2:11 pm

Hi!

i'm wondering whether it's possible to automatically remove logos such as the "The musician's CD library"logo from image files.
for somebody with programming skills it shouldn't be a problem to write a script that detects the logo (gimß) and removes it with a - lets say 10 pixel - margin. i will ask a friend who is knowledgable but maybe someone here knows something about this too? maybe there is an open source OCR engine out that we could use to find the logos, and the removal is then done by gimp.

with a script/tool like this in place it would be a piece of cake to automatically convert the complete library.

what do you think?

greetings
