I can't speak for anyone else here, but I think the Scarlatti Sonatas would be a great addition. They've been mainstays in the keyboard literature for many decades, appearing on numerous recitals to this day. As for the banner, it's up to you. Personally, I'd strip it out alomg with the Russian titl...

I just looked at one of the files (Sonata #15) from there. It appears, at first glace, to be a Muzika (Soviet) reprint of the Longo edition, which was first issued by Ricordi around WWI. Longo died in 1945 and would therefore be PD in Canada. Publication before 1923 would make it PD in the USA (Dove...

Breitkopf page
I added a bunch of plate number and other info on this page to help in dating Breitkopf & Hartel publications. I'll add additional info as I come across it and urge everyone else to do the same. Ultimately I would like to see this type of detailed information available for all publishers. Some, ...

Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue
The Gutenberg archive of Copyright registrations and renewals does not include the volumes for music for some reason. Also (as you noted), the copyright office's online seach only applies to those renewals done after 1978. The only way to search the pre-1978 records is to a) go to Washington, DC and...

Hi, I just noticed that a full score was posted. Grofe, whose orchestration was uploaded, died in 1972. As I understand it, this means the score in question is likely not PD in Canada until Jan. 1, 2023. Unless Canadian law treats "derivative works" as mere adjuncts of the principal work, ...

I also just noticed that the link to the downloadable scans is working at Gutenberg again. It automatically bounced to the main sheet music page for about the last year, which is why I looked up the archive on the way-back machine. They appear to have scanned a number of Dover scores for some works,...

Sorabji
This composer lived a long time (died in the 1980s I think). Kudos to Goldberg988 for posting them, BTW, they're really interesting. I think you'll have to make sure they get moved to the USA server, where they are public domain.

It would be a difficult case to argue that a mere title page is protectable by copyright unless the title page incorporated a design that is copyrightable in its own right as artwork like the Picasso drawing that graced the cover of Stravinsky's Ragtime when first published. However, corporate names...

Featured Score nominations
Goldberg988 has uploaded several scores recently that have very high quality scans. I'll go ahead and jump in to nominate his Balakirev Piano and Orchestra uploads for starters. There are plenty of good ones here, and I'm just thinking off the top of my head at the moment!

Bad upload
I attempted to upload Act 2 of the Gilbert & Sullivan operetta "Ruddigore" but was rebuffed by the system. I have a smaller, easier to handle version of the file I initially tried to upload whenever the old one is purged. Thanks.

The Producers
The Producers is very much under copyright worldwide. It would be illegal for IMSLP to post a score without express written permission from the copyright owner. Sorry. We have to stick to public domain works here.
