I really do not understand why does IMSLP have to comply with Spanish and French copyright law when it is physically hosted in Canada? Also, I would think UE wouldn't dare to issue the C and D letter in the first place if they haven't consulted their lawyers and what legal actions they can take. Just think, UE's intentions might be good, but due to their lawyers (the letter was also issued by their lawyer), the whole issue has just...

Also, not only do they be reluctant to give away that information, they may also refuse to divulge more information regarding the year of publication of some of the works published under UE. This has been a very big problem, not limited only to UE. Many publishers seem reluctant to put the date and ...

Also, exactly how many composers' (living or dead) copyright are being claimed by UE? And how many critical editions which are published less than 50 years ago for composers who died more than 50 years ago, are the copyrights claimed as well? The one problem with is this is that we may be losing out...

Entschuldigung Odin, I applaud your actions, but I'm afraid UE will won't care. Their publications are mainly targeted at professional musicians and orchestras. I seriously doubt the boycott from us amateurs will dent their sales or reputation. However, if your idea can be successful, you would have...
