Agreed. Would like to visit a website that constantly annoys you with ad popups or clutters up your screen with ugly adverts? Of course, carefully designed adverts may help, but that's beside the point.

Please accept our apologies as the mere mention of the word "pirate" might be sensitive here. Is Sweden's copyright law the same as the rest of the EU (eg. life+700?

It's not about money. It's about defending the principles of IMSLP - public domain works should remain public.

The only problem I see is that when UE gets what it wanted, which is IP banning, it will start to get greedy and start to implement other kinds of restrictions, one by one, failing of which would cause another letter to be sent to IMSLP. This is as blatant a blackmail as you're going to get.

I see your point. If anything, if there are still people from the EU downloading the files, we can shrug our shoulders and say to UE "what do you expect? We've implemented what you want us to do and it's not our fault people from the EU still download them". If they have a better idea, by ...

The only problem with boycotting is that it won't work most of the time. Orchestras around the world would rather want a recent copyrighted edition that is more accurate rather than and old edition of the same work. The may think that the glamour word "recent", "updated", "c...

You have to create an account to "digg" the story. No matter, it's free.

As the Terminator said:" I (Feldmahler) am back!!!"
Good to hear that he's up and running.

ArticWind7, would it be difficult to enforce Internet Protocol banning? From what I hear, a little tweaking here and there and it is easily circumnavigated. Heck, somebody can make you take the fall.

Robert, it's not as simple as you think. I think IMSLP went to hibernation mode (as I would like to call it) because the site administrators think that this is not just about the composers UE demand to be removed from IMSLP. It is just the tip of the iceberg. By launching a C & D letter, UE has ...

aslsp-fl, maybe you can ask UE kindly about this situation? But guessing from their obnoxious behaviour you'll be either ignored or they won't care a thing about what you think.
